DOT & JOHN APARTMENT

The use of curves as an element within my concept originates from nature, the soft ripples of water and the gentle movement that expands and dissipates. As well as the way the light disperses and reflects along its surface creating a soft transition between shape, colour and finishes. Similar to which is within Zen gardens and contemporary Japanese architecture.

The home is a sanctuary, a stress free environment and a space to rejuvenate after a busy day. This at its core is the conceptual drive of my design for my clients Dot and John. My design and colour selection attempts to emulate warmth inspired by nature and a harmonious energy void of over-complication or over-stimulation. The use of creams and browns as neutrals within the house allows the greens and eggshell whites to stand in contrast without deviating from the concept. The use of pale and muted solid colours without dominating patterns will help avoid a jarring or unsettling experience within the home

My design encompasses flowing movement, reflected in the soft curvatures and the blending of hues, this will be mirrored within my clients home and enhanced through the selection of materiality such as soft suede and fur, supple leather and a selection of wood. Any additional furnishings and decor will have deliberate and emotional reasoning as my clients require a clutter free environment to mirror the energy they desire. Additionally the soft lighting and more enclosed rooms depicted through degrees of translucency and opaqueness will help transition my clients to a completely different atmosphere.
